On one of her visits, she became so emotional about her recovery that she bent down and touched my feet; a moment for me to cherish as a practitioner!
The Diabetic, Depressed lady
Mrs b. came to us at the age of fifty-one. she had a weight issue; she weighed 87 kg and had a bMI of 36. she’d begun gaining weight after she had a baby (she was 49 kg earlier). soon after, at thirty years, she developed depression and was put on antidepressants. she then proceeded to gain a kilo every year over the next twenty years and developed diabetes.
Presenting Symptoms;
• diabetes
• depression
• poor digestion, gastritis, low energy, poor appetite
• Knee pain
Investigation showed severe nutritional deficiencies of vitamin d, b12 and iron. she had fatty liver grade 2 and was losing proteins in her urine. her Crp was a high 11.8, her hba1C was 9.8 (despite diabetic medicines) and fasting sugar was 234. We modified the grains, gradually removed dairy and gave her a restorative diet. probiotics and other supplements were added to build the gut, improve gut flora balance and address the deficiencies.
The results were transformational: by the end of the treatment, all her medications were removed, including supportive ones for the digestive issues. Within four months, she’d reached a weight of 74 kg and, without medicines, her hba1C was 7.1. The antidepressants took longer to remove. she lost 15 kg, with a 10-kg loss in the first six months. and all this occurred while she was in the first phase of menopause, a time when such issues are usually aggravated. It’s now been three years and she hasn’t regained weight. her diabetes was reversed and she is no longer depressed or on antidepressants. she’s eternally grateful.
A Case of Reversing Infertility
a thirty-three-year-old educationist consulted us; she was morbidly obese (115 kg, bMI of 42) despite being a frugal eater. she had a history of childhood obesity. she’d gained a lot of weight also as a result of the fertility treatment.
