The Godfather is a movie series thats is concerned with Italian mob families. The series has three movies, the movies are inspired from the novel (1969) of the same name by Mario Puzo. Mario Puzo co-wrote the screenplay with the director of the movies, Francis Ford Coppola.
The story revolves around the Corleond family. The conflict of the movie revolves around organized crime and the hunger for power in people.
The movie series has a stellar cast of Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan, Richard Castellano, Robert Duvall, Sterling Hayden, John Marley, Richard Conte, Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Talia Shire, Morgana King, John Cazale, Mariana Hill, Lee Strasberg, Andy Garcia and Sofia Coppola.
In the first movie an aging Vito Corleone hands over the family to Michael and teaches him everything that he has learnt. Michael a war veteran wants nothing to do with the mob family but due to his father being attacked is lured into this world for the sake of revenge. Slowly, Michael grows power hungry, he ignores his wife, and it completely hungover the idea of being the head of the crime families. He is able to take revenge on the people who killed his brother in the first movie.
In the second we see the Young days of Vito in comparison to the present story of Michael and see both of them rise. Michael is betrayed by his borther and in the end passes out his death sentence. He makes it big in the second movie succeeding as a businessman but his wife leaves him taking the children with her.
In the third movie he's handing over the family to Vincent, his nephew who also loves his daughter. The series ends with his daughter dying in his arms getting killed by the bullet that was mean't for Michael. In 2020, a re-cut of the third part was released.
The first two movies are critically acclaimed and arguably two of the best movies ever made. The whole cast was awarded with many accolades for the movies. The Godfather is everything a movie aspires to become.
