There used to be a time when everybody used to look forward to become an TV anchor but honestly I myself being a Journalism student, TV news that's not something where I ever would want to be.
It's so toxic honestly!
There used to be good old days of Doordarshan. I also had one of my professors, who was an ex DD anchor, who taught me anchoring and made me learn how to read news, and we also had debates. But the way I learnt it and the way it is seen on the TV, they're poles apart.
News is now more about drama, entertainment and action. People watch news now, not to get information but probably to laugh or to witness the nuisancity in the debates.
Sometimes it just hurts your ear to hear whatever they speak. Somewhere the sensitivity has died among Newsmakers.
Because of TV News debates, people have started seeing media and media people as vultures, who are just there to attack you.
It has become a space of hate and propaganda, neither diesmmination of information and reporting.
But this is what the reality is now, its all about the drama, the TRP, the action, the sensitization, but not the news and the humanity and about the lives of the people.
What's really sad is, when you spend your childhood admiring something, desiring to be at a place, to become something, but when you grow up and see things getting worse with every passing day, somehow the dark reality, the reality of Newsrooms, really make you question a lot of your choices.
The reality at times is harsh, but it is, what it is!
