The Gudimallam Temple, also known as the Sri Parasurameswara Swamy Temple, is a historic Hindu Ltemple located in Gudimallam village of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is known for its ancient architecture and is considered one of the oldest temples in the region. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
As for the Shivling (Shiva Linga) at the Gudimallam Temple, it is an important representation of Lord Shiva. The Shivling is a symbolic representation of the divine power of Lord Shiva and is considered a
sacred object of worship in Hinduism.
The Shivling at Gudimallam Temple is believed to be one of the oldest and tallest lingams in India. It stands at a height of about 10 feet. The lingam is believed to be self-manifested or swayambhu, meaning
it was not carved or constructed by human hands. What’s unbelievable about it is that, several scientists and geologists have studied it but none of them have figured out what this Shivling is made up of. They
cannot identify the nature and type of the stone.
Devotees visit the Gudimallam Temple to offer their prayers and seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. The temple attracts a significant number of pilgrims, especially during festivals and auspicious occasions
related to Lord Shiva.
