The head of the Sharad Chandra Pawar-led National Congress Party (NCPSP) has made it clear that his party will contest the Maharashtra Assembly elections along with the Congress and the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena. Let us tell you, the elections are to be held in October this year. Sharad Pawar said in a press conference that it is the moral responsibility of the major opposition parties in Maharashtra to protect the interests of smaller allies in the state assembly elections, who were part of the alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. These parties are part of the Maha Vikas Aghadi Congress, Sharad Chandra Pawar's NCP and Shiv Sena (UBT) are part of the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi. The Maha Vikas Aghadi was in power in the state from November 2019 to June 2022 before the Thackeray-led government fell. Pawar said that the opposition will remain united in front of the people of Maharashtra. He further said that there is a need for change in the state and it is the moral responsibility of the opposition alliance to discharge it.
