The High Court gave a big relief to former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The court on Friday granted bail to Soren in the money laundering case related to the alleged land scam. The court had reserved its decision on Soren's bail plea on June 13. Soren's senior lawyer Arunabh Chaudhary said that Soren has been granted bail. A copy of the court order will be sent today, he can come out tomorrow. The court said that prima facie, he is not guilty and there is no apprehension of the petitioner committing any crime while being released on bail.
Soren, the working president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on January 31 in connection with the investigation of the money laundering case. Soren (48) is currently in Birsa Munda Jail. During the hearing, Enforcement Directorate lawyer SV Raju argued that if Soren is released on bail, he will commit a similar crime again.
