Cool
Good analysis.
The Jabberwocky is a brilliant nonsensical poem by Lewis Carroll and it was published in the novel “Through the Looking-Glass” which is a sequel to the book Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (commonly known as Alice In Wonderland). The literal interpretation of the poem is about a speaker narrating the strange tale of the fierce beast known as the Jabberwock to his son. The son goes on for a hunt and comes across the beast while he was taking a break. He emerges victorious in his fight and takes the head of the beast to his father who then embraces him and celebrates his victory.
The poem though a nonsensical poem in its appearance, to me it has a deeper meaning. It could be about us fighting our own inner demons with the Jabberwock standing for the darkness within us and the vorpal blade representing our courage and willingness to fight against it. No person is completely good nor evil in this world. Every person has equal capability to either be a hero or see themselves becoming a villain and the side that wins depends on us. Our battles are our own and no one but us can fight it. We can have people to guide us and to catch us when we falter but in the end the willingness to face our demons lies within us.
Life is filed with many obstacles and it is okay to falter and fall. We may be tempted to succumb to our darkness but beware the Jabberwock my child, it has jaws that bite and claws that would catch. Beware the cry of the jubjub bird. It can tempt you with its voice. Take your vorpal blade and be brave. Face your Jabberwock and slay it and when you emerge victorious know that there will be people there to embrace you and celebrate the victory you have achieved over your darkness.
