According to NASA's first analysis, the massive Space Launch System passed its maiden test with flying colours, and the rocket and Orion capsule are ready for their upcoming mission, Artemis II, which will transport a crew to lunar orbit.
As per news reports, some people were concerned that the SLS, sometimes known as the "Mega Moon Rocket," would never actually launch due to frequent delays and significant cost overruns.
But both the November launch and the 25-day voyage of an unmanned Orion capsule went off (basically) without a hitch.
Although its success was obvious, it wasn't all or nothing. For NASA's teams to ensure that Artemis I didn't succeed despite significant issues, reams of data had to be evaluated.
And they were successful!
