The multi-location celebration of  National Science Day by the Kerala Academy of Sciences was inaugurated formally by the Chief Secretary of Kerala, Dr V. P. Joy, a multifaceted Bureaucrat who is a Technocrat, Scientist, Management expert., Poet, Writer and an able administrator at 9.30 am on February 24, 2023 in a meeting presided over  by Prof. G M. Nair, President, KAS at Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum on February 24, 2023 at 9.30 am. The inaugural address by the Chief Guest was followed by the Key-Note and Science day message by Dr. Anandharamakrishnan, the dynamic Director of CSIR-NIIST. The audience was spell bound with the mesmerizing and learned talks by both the eminent speakers. 

The Principal of the  College, Prof. Jijimon Thomas delivered the Special address and the Vice-Principal  Dr. Shirley Stewart offered felicitation. There were brief talks by 8  eminent Scientists,  Dr. K G. Reghu, (CSIR NIIST), Dr. P. V. Mohanan (SCTIMST) , Dr. Sabu Thomas (RGCB) , Dr. Harinarayanan (KSCSTE), Dr. Narayanan Unni (CSIR-NIIST), Dr Joshy Joseph  (CSIR NIIST) Dr. Johnson B Johnson (RGCB) and Dr. Suju C Jacob (Mar Ivanios) on diverse aspects in Science moderated by Prof G M Nair .  Dr. K B Rameshsh Kumar, Gen. Secretary, KAS  and Dr. Sumesh, Science Club, Mar Ivanios delivered the word of thanks . 

The programme went well and the crowd of students and faculty who had attended the programme  benefitted immensely through listening to and interacting with the speakers and appreciated the  proceedings of the Inaugural event, which was rich in scientific content and gaiety.
