The very important Expressway Line got it's extension with inauguration of Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25.
The extension of Delhi Metro's Airport Express Line from Dwarka Sector 21 to Dwarka 25 is a big time saver for Delhites.
The passengers can now directly reach Terminal 3 (T-3) of the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport from the New Delhi metro station. The new metro station has an underground facility.
The stretch is an extension of the Airport Express Line (AEL).
The commuters can travel from New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector-25 metro station in 21 minutes. Previously, the journey time between New Delhi to Dwarka Sector-21 metro station was around 22 minutes, which has been reduced to 19 minutes, thus saving 3 minutes. This is due to the increase of operational speed of Metro trains on AEL from 90 kmph to a remarkable speed of 120 kmph.Delhi Metro’s operational plan on AEL extension line.
The DMRC has planned to operate eight trains comprising six coaches from Dwarka Sector-21 to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 Metro section on Airport Express Line corridor. The trains will be available at a frequency of 10 minutes on this section.
The passenger has to pay a fare of Rs 60 for travelling between New Delhi to Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25 metro station. The AEL will now have seven metro stations with three interchanges. These are – New Delhi, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Aerocity, Airport (T-3), Dwarka Sec-21 and Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector–25.
