The opening ceremony of the International open Taekwondo Competition (G2) of South Korea was held in Chuncheon. Taekwondo players from 60 countries are participating in this competition. Afghanistan has also participated in these competitions with eight athletes in eight weights. Competitions are for seven days.
The International Open Taekwondo Tournament of Korea will be held from today , 8 August to 14 August at the Hoban Stadium in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, South Korea, with the participation of 3000 taekwondo players from 60 countries.
In this event, which is one of the most serious taekwondo competitions in South Korea, this year athletes will compete in kyurogi (fighting), pomse (form) and kyukpa (breaking hard objects).
Afghanistan's national Taekwondo team is participating in the competition with eight athletes. In the first weight and 54 kilograms Mohammad Ramin Amini, in the second weight and 58 kilograms Mohsen Rezaei, in the third weight and 63 kilograms Bijan Sadrzadeh, in the fourth weight and 68 kilograms Hikmatullah Zain, in the fifth weight and 74 kilograms Omid Sohak, in the sixth weight and 80 kg Ramesh Hosseini, in the seventh weight and negative 87 kg Mohammad Ashraf Shokran and in the eighth weight and positive 87 kg, Ali Akbar Amiri will fight with the rivals.
