Did you know that Milton Hershey founded his first confectionary company at only 19 years old?!

Unfortunately that business was not successful but that didn’t stop him. Hershey went on to attempt his hand at a few more candy businesses in Chicago, New Orleans and New York. Eventually he started the Lancaster Caramel Company which proved to be extremely profitable.

In 1900, he sold the Lancaster Caramel Company for 100 million dollars (which was a lot at the time) and turned his focus solely to chocolate. He decided to create his factory in his hometown, Derry Township, Pennsylvania.

This brand would soon become well known around the world for producing the famous Hershey’s Chocolate and its several variations.

Milton Hershey only became famous after several tries and even more failures. The lesson to be learnt here is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and we can only find our way out if we don’t give up!
