As far as I have read and studied this disorder, there are six subtypes to explain it more explicitly.

These six can insinuate and explain the symptoms clearly.

-Adjustment disorder with depressed mood: Low mood, tearfulness, and feelings of hopelessness.

-Adjustment disorder with anxiety: Nervousness, worry, jitteriness, and fear of separation from caregivers.

-Adjustment disorder with mixed anxiety and depressed mood: A combination of the above symptoms.

-Adjustment disorder with disturbance of conduct: Violating the rights of others, violating societal norms and rules.

-Adjustment disorder with mixed disturbance of emotions and conduct: A combination of symptoms from the above subtypes are present (depressed mood, anxiety, and behaviour).

-Adjustment disorder unspecified: Reactions to stressful events don’t fit any of the above subtypes. Reactions may include behaviours like social withdrawal.
