The Taliban have promised the international community that they will allow sixth-graders and girls to go to school for another two months, starting in the spring. The head of the Norwegian Refugee Council, Jan Eigland, told the BBC after talks with the Taliban in Oslo that it would be a great achievement if the Taliban kept their promise. With the return of the Taliban to power, many Afghan girls and women have been deprived of the right to education and work. Talks between the Taliban delegation and the international community, which began three days ago in Oslo, ended today.
