Truly shocking
This story was written by this Afghan girl herself, maybe you will feel more miserable life in Afghanistan by reading it.
My name is Maryam Bint Abdul Rahman, a resident of Ghor province, Saghar district. I am 20 years old.
I want to tell the whole world the true story of my life as an Afghan girl so that no Afghan girl will be deprived of her rights in the future. I was 13 years old in the 5th grade and I was thinking about my education and training to be a trained doctor in my province in the future, which is an urgent need of our people.
Of course, at this time, my father's family had proposed to me, but I was not aware of it. Without my consent, my family decided to nominate me, which I did not agree with at all. Although I begged to continue my education until I reached the legal age at which I would decide to get married, nothing was heard from my family.
I had to go to my uncle, so that maybe my father would listen to him. Unfortunately, my uncle laughed at what I said. Disappointed from here, I went to my midwife's house and cried, which was of no use and no one paid attention to my complaints.
Unfortunately, my cruel parents nominated me with all my grievances and cries, which were not to the detriment of my family, until I reached the legal age, and I had no choice without a divine door, and my eyes were always full of tears. I did it with a person named Ghousuddin who was 35 years old. I dreamed that my future wife would be literate, but unfortunately, Uthuddin was illiterate. We were engaged for 2 years because we were not going to get married until I finished 12th grade, which was also accepted by my husband's family, but not outwardly.
