There are times when you stumble upon something and realise how you have missed such a gem.
The series is about eight people across the world who are connected to each other. They are connected in such a way that they can share each other's thoughts and actions, through which they are trying to find out who is trying to kill them all. The mysterious organisation wants to find these eight gifted people and get their scientific experiments carried out to destroy the world.
Season 1 sets the characters and their backgrounds. It also showcases each of their individual problems and how they tend to fight.
Season 2 is more about learning more about their abilities, conspiracies being revealed and fight for justice.
The production value is top-notch, and of course every frame screams how much money has been pumped into giving us a magical experience. The story engulfs everything from the struggle of black lives to disputes over sexual identity, politics, love, mafia, and what not. Every time these eight characters come together, it literally gives you an adrenaline rush with goosebumps. Yes, the story at times gets a bit dragging or confusing, but it won't take away from what it has to offer. The climax was given by the maker through a special of 2.5 hours, but still, it lacked the needed ending for such a great drama and seemed a bit rushed.
The other best part is that you can watch different ethnicities of people coming together and erasing geographical borders through shooting carried out in London, Reykjavik, Nairobi, Mumbai, and many more. Every actor, be it Daryl Hannah, Naveen William Sidney Andrews (Sayid Jarrah di Lost), Max Riemelt, and Doona Bae, is just a treat to watch, and even Tina Desai, Anupam Kher, and Purab Kohli being featured in international series makes you feel proud. One thing that cannot be discounted is how hard it would have been to shoot such a series, and three cheers to the makers for that. You have to watch this gem to really get the feel of it and understand the nuances and brilliance of the makers.
