Today is Cancer awareness Day ! Do you know ? Alot of People suffer from cancer at some point in their lives . cancer affects all of us personally in one way or another ! But the risk of developing cancer can be lowered through lifestyle changes . This makes awareness of risk factors and prevention extremely important ! Some types of cancer are largely preventable but most people are unaware of what to do and what to not !
I will tell you some easy way to spend to spread awareness ;
1 Set a fitness challenge - Do you know ? Obesity and inactive lifestyle increase our risk of developing cancer ! To spread awareness about this , host a fitness challenge . It could be something as simple as taking the stairs in place of the lift , or something as challenging as a 5 kilometer run . Set proper routine , do exercises . One can decide on what will work best !
2 Remember all dates - There are lots of important dates related to cancer . Eg - world cancer day is in February .
3 Promote Healthy Eating - Diet high in empty calories and low in nutrients might lead to cancer . Switch to healthy food options like fresh salad , green tea etc . Avoid smoking and alcohol .
4 Listen to stories - Cancer is considered as taboo in some cultures and cancer patients have to face a lot . Take some time out from your busy schedule and sit with someone who have gone through it . Listen to there stories there struggles and motivate them to do better in life .
5 Do Activities - In order to raise awareness one should do activities like making posters , raise funds for those who canβt afford treatment , taking part in any event etc.
Cancer is a marathon β you can't look at the finish line . You take it moment by moment , sometimes breath by breath , other times step by step !
