To mark Deo Dipawali function in Varanasi along Ganges, The story of killing of demon Tripurasur came alive through laser and projection show at Chetsingh Ghat.  In this, it was told through audio visual medium that Lord Shiva becomes Tripuraantaka by killing Tripurasura.  For this, Lord Shiva made the earth an impossible chariot, in which the Sun and the Moon became its two wheels.  Lord Vishnu became the arrow, Vasuki the string of the bow and Meruparvat the bow.  Then Lord Shiva, riding on an impossible chariot, attacked Abhijit Nakshatra as soon as all three Puris came in a row.  As soon as the attack took place, all three Puris were burnt to ashes and Tripurasura came to an end.  That day was Kartik Purnima.  On the day of Dev Diwali, there is a tradition of worshiping Lord Shiva along with Ganga Puja, due to which the wishes of the people are fulfilled.Deepotsav was celebrated on Monday at Vishwanath Temple located in BHU campus.  5100 lamps were lit from the temple premises till the outside gate.  Amidst the praises of the Lord, Maha Aarti was also performed.  Students and other people participated enthusiastically in this.
