The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Act is a legislation in India that requires certain companies to set aside a portion of their profits for social development activities. The act applies to companies with a net worth of INR 500 crore (about USD 70 million) or more, or a turnover of INR 1,000 crore (about USD 140 million) or more, or a net profit of INR 5 crore (about USD 700,000) or more in any financial year.
