Manchester City may not be as decorated as their city rivals United, but they have emerged as one of Europe's best clubs in recent decades. Thank you to all of the managers and players who helped lead the club to victory. City is now the third most successful Premier League club.
And the players have also been crucial to City's success; their consistency has helped the club achieve a high level of recognition in Europe, and in this article, we look at their players with the most appearances.
10 Willie Donachie
Willie Donachie began his career in the youth team at Manchester City and was a talented player who was later selected in the senior team. He spent half of his playing career at Manchester City and quickly established himself as first choice left-back. Donachie was one of the first players to wear the City jersey, making 347 appearances before leaving in 1980. He won the FA Charity Shield in 1972 and appeared in two League Cup finals for City.
9 Paul Power
Paul Power has played for two clubs in his career: Manchester City and Everton. His big spells, however, came at City, where he cemented his legacy and became the most popular player. Before joining Everton, he appeared in 447 games and scored 36 goals. Power was instrumental in City's first-ever Premier League title in 1986-87.
Paul Power was classed as a big game player who scored against bad teams to help City become one of Europe's most intimidating sides.
8 Mike Summerbee
Summerbee embarked on a career in sports as a child since he was passionate about playing football. He soon made his way into Swindon Town, where he matured into a professional player, attracting the attention of many clubs. And City signed forward Mike Summerbee, who was an influential player in the club as a regular and first-team player.
He was a magnificent player who led City to four trophies in three seasons and went on to make 400 City appearances.
