3 Mike Doyle

Doyle's turning point came from the youth team, and he finally made his debut against Cardiff City, where he was used in a variety of roles, despite his natural position as a full-back. Before joining the other club, he was another legendary player who became the most famous player in City's jersey. He was a versatile player who made 563 appearances in all competitions and scored 41 goals.

2 Joe Corrigan

Corrigan, another City product, joined the club in 1969-70 and quickly became City's first-choice goalkeeper, replacing the ageing Harry Dowd at Maine Road. Corrigan is the player with the most appearances in a sky bule shirt. He appeared in 602 games and scored one goal during his career. Corrigan won the league and the UEFA European Cup during his 16-year tenure at City.

1 Alan Oakes

Alan Oakes holds the record for most appearances in a sky blue shirt with 676. He was a midfielder who made 776 appearances in his entire playing career, ranking seventh all-time. Oakes joined City as an amateur and contributed to the club's dominance in midfield. He was one of the astute midfielders who won numerous awards for his efforts.

And during his time at City, he was a member of the club's most trophy-winning squad. His last appearance was against Manchester United at Old Trafford. In 1975, he was named the club's Player of the Year. And legendary player Bill Shankly described him as a role model for the next generation.
