#7 Pietro Anastasi
Fans dubbed an Italian football player known as Petruzzu 'u turcu (Sicilian for "Pete the Turk"), who mostly played as a striker.
He began his professional club career in Italy in 1966 with Varese, where he helped the team gain promotion to Serie A in his first season with the team. The following season, after a promising debut campaign in the Italian top division, he moved on to Juventus, where he spent the next eight seasons and won three Serie A championships. He subsequently played for Internazionale for two seasons, winning the Coppa Italia in 1978, before transferring to Ascoli, where he stayed for three. After one season with the Swiss team Lugano, he ultimately announced his retirement in 1982.
Between 1968 and 1975, Anastasi played 25 times for Italy at the international level and netted 8 goals. On Italian soil, he made his senior international debut at UEFA Euro 1968. He is most remembered for scoring in Italy's historic triumph against Yugoslavia in the tournament's championship match. Afterward, he participated in the 1974 FIFA World Cup.
When he eventually retired, he became a commentator. He passed away from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis on January 17, 2020.
#8 John Hansen
A.C. Torino, an Italian team, came close to hiring Hansen, but Juventus F.C. of Turin ultimately won his services. Giovanni Agnelli, the owner of FIAT and Juventus, recommended a director of Nordisk FIAT Copenhagen to BK Frem's president, and the director called pleadingly for him to sign Hansen for his team. Being a free agent due to his amateur status, Hansen quickly agreed to a three-year deal worth DKK111,111.11 ($23,500) with Juventus on November 16, 1948.
Three days after receiving the number 10 jersey, he made his debut against A.S. Bari. For a big, muscular man who is not used to playing defense, Hansen's first season did not get off to a good start. After 12 games, the Italy national team coach phoned Hansen merely to make sure he was the same player who had scored four goals against them in the Olympics. Hansen scored 15 goals in 24 games to finish his first campaign.
