8. Tommy Smith- 638 Games
The "Anfield Iron," who made his Liverpool debut in May 1963, went on to participate in at least 40 games for 11 straight seasons between 1964 and 1975.
On May 8, 1963, he made his "Reds" debut, taking Jimmy Melia's place in the team's 5-1 victory over Birmingham City at home due to injury. He did not, however, make any more appearances for the remainder of the 1962–1963 campaign and did not take part in the 1963–1964 campaign that brought home the First Division championship. In July 1964, after a four-year relationship, he wed Susanne.
At the conclusion of his debut season as a regular, he assisted Shankly's team in winning the club's first FA Cup.
The gritty, combative Smith led the club for three years while also contributing an incredible 48 goals, winning four league championships, a European Cup, and a plethora of other awards.
9. Bruce Grobbelaar- 628 Games
Throughout the course of 13 seasons with the Liverpool first team, Grobbelaar established himself as one of the team's all-time finest goalkeepers.
Throughout a 13-year span, Grobbelaar was kept on by three of Liverpool's finest managers: Paisley, Fagan, and Dalglish. His gymnastics-like quickness and unwavering confidence were his greatest assets. As seen by his verbal assault on Jim Beglin in the first all-Merseyside FA Cup final against Everton in 1986, he was never hesitant to be seen to chastise his defenders if he believed they had provided easy opportunities to the opposition. More medals were earned by him throughout his Liverpool career than by any of his peers.
