#6 Bobby Marshall (356 appearances)
After playing for Sunderland, he moved to the Division Two team Manchester City on March 1, 1928. Marshall helped Manchester City win just two of their final fourteen games, advancing them to the championship round. Marshall played in two consecutive FA Cup finals in the 1930s, one in which his team won against Portsmouth and the other in which they lost to Everton. Marshall switched positions at the end of his career and started playing center-half.
Marshall's extreme adaptability was demonstrated by the fact that he began his City career as an inside attacker and ended it as a dominant center-half.
Marshall played a significant role in City's first-ever top-flight league championship in 1937, as well as the 1930s FA Cup campaigns that resulted in successive final appearances.
#7 Billy Meredith (393 appearances)
Meredith was an accomplished Welsh football player. He was regarded as one of the first football superstars because of his accomplishments, particularly for Manchester City and Manchester United. He amassed 48 caps for Wales, with whom he scored 11 goals and won two British Home Championships, and he won every domestic trophy in the English football league. He preferred playing outside right and had strong dribbling, passing, crossing, and shooting abilities. He was a committed and physically fit professional, and his tendency to chew on a toothpick while playing made him easily recognizable.
Billy Meredith, one of English football's earliest superstars and a legend for both City and United, scored the lone goal in the FA Cup final as City won their first-ever trophy in 1904.
The outside forward significantly impacted City at the turn of the century, but after being suspected of bribery, he controversially switched to Manchester United.
