#8 Mike Summerbee (400 appearances)
Summerbee started a career in sports as a kid because he loved playing football so much. He quickly found his way to Swindon Town, where he developed into a skilled player and caught the eye of other teams. Moreover, City added striker Mike Summerbee, a regular and first-team member who had significant influence inside the organization.
Blackpool hired Summerbee on Christmas Eve of 1976. Instead of manager Allan Brown, the Blackpool chairman had proposed the move. Afterward, Summerbee acknowledged he should not have joined the group. For the Seasiders, he only made three League appearances.
That aside, he was a fantastic player who made 400 City appearances and helped City win four titles in three seasons.
#9 Ernie Toseland (411 appearances)
He became a professional in 1928 by joining the First Division team Manchester City. Up to 1938, he played for City and made 368 appearances, making 61 goals in the process. With City, Toseland joined a potent front line that featured England internationals like outside left Eric Brook, inside forward Tommy Johnson, and center forward Fred Tilson. Sam Cowan, a center-back for England, and Jimmy McMullan, a captain for Scotland, were both members of the City team. In the 1928–1929 football season, Toseland's first goal for City came in a 3-0 win over Aston Villa. The other goals were scored by Tommy Johnson and Eric Brook. In that year, Tommy Johnson set a club record by tallying 38 league goals as City finished ninth.
Toseland, a quick winger often dubbed "the Jesse Owens of football," gave the 1937 league champions and 1934 FA Cup victorious team the drive down the sides.
Despite being a part of the City club that was relegated in 1938 despite having scored more goals than any other side, the flying inside right scored over 60 goals in his City tenure.
