More street food!!
Delight for all the senses🫶
The variety of flavors and textures in Kashi, Varanasi is simply amazing, and the aromas that waft through the streets are enough to make your mouth water.
Place- No specific place
You can try them near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in the narrow and historic streets of Banaras.
Also, I noticed that every street food was served in an environment friendly way. (Atleast from the places that I ate)
Now let's have a look on the food:
1) Banarasi Paan- after-dinner treat
Nothing beats it, so far the best paan I've ever had, indeed. It's made with a betel leaf filled with areca nut, betel nut, sugar, lime, and spices.
And when you put the folded leaf in your mouth, the flavours that bursts into your mouth are heavenly. Wow, I want to try it again now.
*Sighs* I can't!!
2) Thandai-
Try it when you come out after visiting the famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
Made with a blend of nuts, seeds, and spices, including almonds, fennel seeds, watermelon seeds, rose petals, pepper, poppy seeds, cardamom, saffron, and milk. The different ingredients come together, making it delicious and refreshing.
3) Rabadi-
It is delicious and versatile sweet dish that can be enjoyed on its own or as part of a larger meal. We ate it at night because we used to come back to hotel very late so, the only thing that could replace milk was Rabadi. Often served chilled and garnished with nuts or seeds, Rabadi has a rich and complex flavor that is both sweet and savory.
Do try and mention me!!
We tried variety of tempting foods, these are just some. Check out my next post for more :)
