Trident Foundation Initiative "Parali Samadhan": A lifeline for farmers and the environment

Trident Foundation, dedicated CSR wing of the global textile conglomerate Trident Group, is helping farmers with machinery and knowledge support to manage and dispose of agro-waste around Barnala region in Punjab. The 2023 Parali Samadhan Program is dedicated to preserving the environment and supporting local communities by addressing the problem of agricultural stubble burning, curbing air pollution, benefitting nature and community well-being at large.

“Today, North India is facing a severe air pollution crisis, with the AQI reaching 470, making it extremely unhealthy to breathe. Thus, we are all concerned and looking for a possible solution to mitigate the pollution. Through our ‘Parali Samadhan Yojna’ under Trident Foundation, we at Trident Group have been addressing the pressing issue of crop burning by empowering local farmers with the machinery and knowledge needed for efficient agro-waste management. This year, we are determined to raise the bar and aim to expand our reach for a greener and healthier future, where our communities thrive alongside a sustainable environment.” said Madhu Gupta, Chairperson, Trident Foundation.

Agricultural stubble burning is a perilous practice that poses a significant threat to our environment. This practice, detrimental to nature and human health, has been a long-standing concern especially in the northern parts of India. In FY 22-23, Trident Foundation successfully lifted 7500 Tons of Parali from the farms impacting over 3000 acres of land and reducing GHG emission with over around 8000 Ton/Year Co2 Equivalent, benefiting farmers and residents with better air quality.
