Tuffwoman -- 24 Hours Stadium Run - Leaderboard after 10 hours -- Meenal leading
Delhi's Meenal Kotak with 188 laps is leading after 10 hours in the women's section of the 24 Hours Stadium Run in Chandigarh on the intervening night of February 11-12.
Kota's Deepa Yadav with 183 laps is at second place, while a Bangladesh runner Sifat Fahamida Nousin is placed third with 154 laps.
All the three runners are eyeing for the title of 'Tuffwoman'.
In the 10th year of establishing Tuffman India - a sports endurance company -, taking a leap towards gender equality in ultramarathons, they (Tuffman India) introduced the title of ‘Tuffwoman’ in the women's category of the ultra run.
It was in 2016, when the endurance sports company, introduced the title of 'Tuffman' for all the runners finishing their ultramarathons under a specific timeline. The time limit varies for different terrains.
But from this year (24 Hours Stadium Run in Panchkula and onwards), the top women ultra runner finishers would get a title of ‘Tuffwoman’ and men would get the same ‘Tuffman’, subject to meeting the criteria for the title.
“Ahead of 2023 International Women’s Day, we felt we owe a lot to you (referring to women runners). We are thrilled to announce the title of Tuffwoman for our tough woman runners,” says Sanjay Mangla, himself an ultra runner and a founder of a sports endurance company Tuffman India.
