Today Twitter is down and not showing tweets to users. While the website and apps of Twitter were up, users were not seeing any tweets on any of their tabs.

All tabs — including Following, For You and Lists — were empty. The outage is still ongoing and it is not currently clear for how long it will last.

The problem is global and not just specific to Indian users. It seems that the issue is affecting only visibility of the tweets. This is because within minutes of the issue surfacing, #TwitterDown is already trending on the website.

So, users can create and post tweets. It’s just that those tweets aren’t visible to anyone at the moment.
