A dramatic and wonderful competition is coming to its climax on Sunday. A tournament where we saw some unpredictable results, fight backs, and history making. Two countries with some deep football legacy will play in the final.
Semi Finals
After finishing as runners up in the 2019 Korea again reached the semi finals. Their fight in the competition continued till the last moment of the semi final, losing to Italy for a late conceded goal. Score was 1-1 till 86th minute. Reviewed as one of the best matches of the tournament, more than 20,000 spectators gathered to see the fight. Goalkeepers Sebastiano Desplanches and Kim Joon-hong worked hard from start to finish. Cesare Casadei gave Italy an early lead, while South Korea equalized with Lee Seung-won’s penalty goal. Simone Pafundi scored a goal from a free kick to take Italy to the final.
Israel had their moments in the match, where they lost 1-0 to Uruguay. Anderson Duarte scored Uruguay’s only goal of the first semifinal in the 61st minute. Both teams fought well but failed to create many chances. Surprisingly, Israel had 67% possession, while Uruguay had 16 shots. Israel are looking to finish their dream run with a third place finish.
Third place match will be played between Israel and South Korea 11th June, ahead of the final.
