Udaipur hosts Zinc City half marathon on September 6, 2024.

Hindustan Zinc Limited will host the inaugural Vedanta Zinc City half marathon in Udaipur on September 29.

It is already labelled as the “most beautiful marathon”. It promises an exceptional experience for the runners as the route winds around the Fateh Sagar Lake and the majestic Aravali ranges. The route also has iconic landmarks like Maharana Pratap Smarak, Saheliyon Ki Bari and the Neemuch Mata Mandir hill.

Celebrating the arrival of autumn, the marathon sports the tagline, #RunForZeroHunger, as the objective is the fight against rural malnutrition.

Adding to the charm of the event, along with the launch of the race-day jersey, a portrait of the marathon logo was made using over 1400 pieces of Rubik’s cube. The artwork was made in six hours by Sumeet Dwibedy, an employee of Hindustan Zinc.

The Chairperson of Hindustan Zinc, Priya Agarwal Hebbar was pleased with the launch of the marathon, and emphasised its power to unite people.

The District Collector of Udaipur, Arvind Poswal was happy that the missing piece in Udaipur’s cultural ecosystem was filled by the marathon. Udaipur’s Inspector General of Police, Ajay Pal Lamba, said that the marathon would put the city on the world map and pave the way for its further development.

Apart from the half marathon there will be the 10-kilometre Cool Run and the 5-km Dream Run.
