Update on Antonio Rudiger's Injury, Defender In Doubt to Play for Germany vs Denmark!
Antonio Rudiger has been a mainstay in Germany's defence for the last few years. The Real Madrid defender however picked up an injury in the 1-1 draw against Switzerland and this has made him a doubt for the game against Denmark.
As per the German Football Body's statement, "Antonio Rudiger did not participate in the German national team’s group training on Thursday as well. The player is still receiving treatment several times a day from the medical staff, after he suffered a strain in the posterior muscle of the right thigh, and he is in the second stage of the recovery process. His participation against Denmark will be determined before the match."
Rudiger is yet to train with his teammates since the game against Switzerland. Fellow centreback Jonathan Tah is also suspended for the round of 16 game against Denmark and so it has to be seen how Germany will shape up for their knockout game.
