Here's 101 for your vaginal care;
1 WHAT UNDERGARMENTS TO WEAR???
Always wear cotton underwear. Cotton is a very breathable fabric that prevents any bacteria from being trapped inside and allows air passage, which is very important to prevent any infections.
2 HOW TO CLEAN YOUR VAGINA??
The vagina is a self-cleaning organ that doesn't require any active cleaning. Your vagina has a certain acidic pH level and good bacteria that prevent infections. However, if you do use some intimate hygiene wash make sure to use it only externally that is on the vulva and NOT inside the vaginal cavity.
3 SHOULD YOU BLEACH YOUR VAGINA??
In general, the genital region is darker than the rest of your body due to hormones. This is completely normal. There are some products available in the market to lighten/ bleach/ brighten the region, you do not need these products and are recommended not to apply harmful chemicals in the sensitive genital region.
4 VAGINAL DISCHARGE AND INFECTIONS??
Clear watery discharge, and thicker , discharge mid-cycle or just before your period is normal. Differently coloured discharge, yellow-green or greyish in colour, bad odour or curd-like discharge could be indicators of infection. Pain during intercourse could also be a sign of infection and you must consult your doctor.
5 WIPING YOUR GENETALIA??
After taking a bath or urinating, you must wipe from front to back and not the other way round. Wiping from back to front can lead to bacteria from the anal region spreading to the vagina and cause infections.
6 TRACK YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE!
Mark the first day of your period each month to make sure your period is regular and nothing is wrong with your hormones.
7 PEEING AFTER SEX!!
The urinary bladder for vagina owners is very short and during sex the friction and sweat can cause bacteria which could lead to an infection. So always pee after sex even if you don't feel like it.
