Time is ticking and the National Capital is ready to welcome guests from G20 nations with its delicious foods and world-class tourist places.
According to sources, G20 delegates will be served vegetarian foods at a Delhi hotel on September 9-10.
The lunch that will be hosted at Bharat Mandapam will be vegetarian and will prepared by ITC Maurya chefs. ITC Maurya has been given the catering contract for the event.
G20 leaders will also pay tribute at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before attending the summit at 'Bharat Mandappam' at ITPO Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, said sources.
Wives of leaders, who came to India, will also visit the National Modern Art Gallery in Delhi and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute in Pusa, they added.
As India is celebrating the year 2023 as Millets Year. Hence, a special 'Millets Thali' has been prepared for all the leaders and foreign delegates including US President Joe Biden. Millets have been named 'Shrianna' by the Modi government.
More than 100 dishes of indigenous foreign will be served. Over 100 Indian and foreign dishes will be served at the G20 summit. The most special dish will be Millets Thali.
The Chief chef of Rosette Fight Star Hotel, Gagandeep told NDTV, "The millets thali will be made without the use of wheat and rice. Five types of millet will be used to make lentils. The thali also includes sweets made from millet. Ragi (Nachni) Barfi is being prepared from it, which looks just as soft as Mawa ki Barfi."
Apart from Millets Thali, foreign guests will also be served dishes that identify different states. For example, Bihar's Litti-Chokha, Rajasthani Dal Baati Churma, Punjabi Tadka, South India's Masala Dosa, Uttapam and Idli, Bengali Rasgulla, Jalebi, many special dishes and sweets have been included in the menu. Among the desi street food, foreign guests will also get to taste Golgappa, Dahi Bhalla, Samosas and spicy chaat.
