India star cricketer Virat Kohli has urged his friends to not ask him for ODI World Cup 2023 tickets which kicks off on Thursday, October 5.
Former India captain advised his friends to enjoy the matches from home if they cannot make it to the stadiums.
In an Instagram story, Kohli 'humbly' urged his friends to not bother him for tickets during the quadrennial event.
"As we approach the World Cup, I would humbly like to let all my friends know to not request me for tickets at all through the tournament. Enjoy from your homes pls," Kohli wrote on Wednesday morning.
Kohli's wife and actor Anushka Sharma also echoed his husband's sentiments in an Instagram story and wrote," ...let me just add... please don't request me to help if your messages get unanswered. Thank you for your understanding."
This is not the first time that any cricketer has requested friends and family to not ask for tickets before any showpiece event. In the past, there have been many instances when players posted on social media that they were flooded with ticket requests from their relatives.
