Antony scored his first European goal for Manchester United with a beautiful finish in a 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Thursday.

Seven days after a 2-2 draw in the first leg, United were forced to come from behind at Old Trafford after a Robert Lewandowski penalty gave Barcelona a 3-2 aggregate lead.

The Blaugrana had a dream start to the second leg, taking the lead after 18 minutes thanks to a penalty from Robert Lewandowski. Despite being the better team in the first half, Barcelona only managed one goal.

That cost them just 90 seconds into the second half, when Fred equalised for Manchester United with a lovely finish from just inside the box.

The hosts have completed their comeback and now lead 2-1. Antony, who came on at halftime, curled a brilliant effort past Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to delight the home fans.

The manager of Manchester United did so by removing the ineffective Wout Weghorst and rejigging his forward line with the introduction of Antony. The reward was immediate, with Fernandes squaring for Fred and firing past Ter Stegen with his weaker right foot.

Jules Kounde still required a magnificent save from De Gea to keep the tie alive, but United had the momentum and quickly took the lead. Luke Shaw and Fernandes' effective cornerwork eventually resulted in Antony's cool-headed angle finish. Varane also cleared the ball off the line in extra time.
