"WATER WATER EVERYWHERE AND NOT A DROP TO DRINK"
As famously quoted in Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem, 'The Rime of the Ancient Mariner,' and is quite true as there is so much water around with 71 percent of Earth's surface being covered in water and the oceans holding about 96.5 percent of all Earth's water.
Water also exists in the air but only 3.5 percent of Earth's water is drinkable and can be used for human consumption which are freshwater lakes and frozen water locked up in glaciers and polar ice caps.
And even in the freshwater, 69% of it is in ice form but if all of that ice melts, the sea level would rise which will lead to destruction such as posing threat to marine life which is critical to the healthy function of the whole planet and to the lives of all those who inhabit it.
Rising temperatures and global warming are one of the top concerns of climate change which is leading to rising in temperatures and water levels
Globally around 663 million people do not have access to clean water, and of this number approximately 553 million live in rural areas.
Hence water is an essential source of life and human existence; without it life will be incomplete.
Over the years human development has destroyed our natural resources. The practice of dumping untreated wastewater from textile dyeing is therefore continuing. My research aims to align the relationship between industrial and agricultural practices and wastewater treatment to eliminate water contamination and increase the practice of recycling the water used in these processes.
Therefore it is important for humans to do our bit, conserve and save water.
Because Water is life and conservation is the future. Let's save lives through water conservation.
