Thank you, Jessica. It's exhausting arguing with someone who's completely refusing to acknowledge where they stand in the social hierarchy and their power over others.

Coming back to the topic. Many Americans leave their homes to work. The conventional family, with extended relatives living together, is not as common as it once was. Many elderly individuals are institutionalized and are not cared for at home, even when they can be. The idea of "out of sight, out of mind" takes over.

It has been like this for a long time. Even when I was younger. However it keeps getting worse. Young people need to respect us old folks more, and understand that we're not against them.

All you old ones like me, all I can suggest you is to be more chipper. The young lads hate us "stuck up" old men. Dress young, understand the young culture. Show, or at least fake, some enthusiasm. Remember at a new company you're not a senior. Show the will to learn.

Oh and maybe lie at your resume and reduce some years from your experience, they don't want someone who knows too much out there.
