First things first ; there's no shame at all in developing stretch marks during pregnancy and if you do get stretch marks , you're not alone and you didn't do anything "wrong." Stretch marks are largely genetically determined , so you really don't have control over getting stretch marks .
But even if you're destined to get stretch marks , there may be some things you can do to support your skin ;
1 Healthy Diet - This prevent in rapid weight gain and help
In reducing their appearance .
2 Moisturise Daily - Use a lotion or anti stretch mark cream twice a day . Start as early as third month of pregnancy . Massage for about 10 mins .
3 Drink plenty of water - Hydrating yourself from within with water is as important as hydrating the skin from outside .
4 Exfoliate your skin - Exfoliate stretch mark prone areas once a week . Exfoliation remove dead cells that may prevent your anti stretch mark creams / lotion to penetrate deeper .
5 Embrace them - They are part of your motherhood journey . Embrace them !
