"We have some very young players," Ten Hag pleads for patience
Ten Hag has pleaded for patience as Manchester United were held to a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Old Trafford over the weekend. Antony broke the deadlock in the second half, however Manchester United could not hang on to their advantage. Erik ten Hag has pleaded for patience, as he has stated that the club has several young players, and as such, it will take time to rebuild.
"We have some very young players and that is why we built this club back and that takes time," Ten Hag said.
"We built it by bringing in young players like Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Højlund and Kobbie Mainoo and they are all in the first season of Premier League. The Premier League gets more and more intense year by year.
"Those players have to adjust and that takes time. I am very impatient but we need patience."
Manchester United have fallen out of the top four race, and are currently in the sixth spot. They are scheduled to face Arsenal at home, Brighton away and Wolves away from home to end their season. This could be a huge challenge for them, as all three fixtures could be challenging.
