The purpose of my first point was to point out that, following the 2016 election, every possible effort was made to delegitimize the outcome (i.e. undermine the democratic process). The efforts were promulgated by the dems, with the help of the media and others. They were based on pure partisan motives with no basis in fact. That has already been proven after extensive investigations and numerous hearings. They found nothing. In fact, they found that much of the so-called “evidence” that was used to support their allegations was completely fabricated. There didn’t appear to be much outrage from anybody (minus republicans) over these divisive attempts to disrupt democracy. Just wanted to clarify as long we’re talking about attempts to subvert democracy that have no basis in fact. Again, just pointing out that it’s not a one-sided thing.
Regarding BLM, don’t you think it would be a good idea for people to educate themselves on the ultimate policy objectives of the movement before donating and/or supporting it? As I said, I support the idea of protesting inequality. However, it is clear that there is much more to the BLM movement and organization than simply protesting racial inequality. They would be the first ones to tell you that. To me, its objectives are wholly unacceptable, and more than that, they are dangerous and run counter to everything American. That is why I believe the BLM movement and organization is just as detrimental to the well-being of our country as the events that took place this past week.
I am glad to hear that you were aware of President Trump’s condemnation of the violence. Many seem to be conveniently ignoring that fact. Regarding your final point, I am aware that some on the right believe the violence was acceptable. I would not be one of those people. That was a point I was attempting to convey in my original post. For the record, I understand and respect your point of view on these issues. I’m glad we can have a discussion about it.
