The wedding functions start with the ritual bath for both bride and groom at their respective homes.
The bride has a no makeup look and is supposed to wear the traditional kashmiri dress- phiran and a traditional headgear. The phiran is mostly embroidered with tila threads in famous kashmir Paisley designs .
The elder ladies of the family bless the bride and songs wishing them happy and blissful married life are sung.
In todays times u might hear an occasional Bollywood number.
