What is a ghost period ?

On occasion , some people experience a "phantom" or "ghost" period where they have symptoms of a period but not the actual bleeding ; period pain but no period ! Besides bloating , moodiness and sudden sugar cravings , cramps are one of the most common signs that your time of the month is coming soon !

During early pregnancy it is not uncommon to experience discomfort in the lower abdomen and while there may be some spotting , there may be no bleeding at all .

What other conditions can cause pain but no period ?

- Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
- Stress
- Hormonal Birth Control
- Thyroid Conditions

While not very fun , they are at least reliable indicators of when you need to have your pads , tampons or menstrual cups ready !
