Good read 👍🏻
There’s no doubt that Manchester United is a truly global and massive club. The work done by Sir Alex and the club’s successful history proves that they’ll always have fans who will show up in numbers in any city in the world. On the pitch, it’s a different story. The reality is that United have lost ground in the last decade to the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool. However, fans still hold hope. Finding the right elements to bring back the club to its former glory is important and here are a few things Man United need to do in order to come back to the zenith of world football
Sell deadweight players:
A few players at ManUtd don’t deserve to be wearing the fabled red jersey. The likes of Martial, Harry Maguire, and Sancho came in for big money but have flattered to deceive. Sancho can still be excused but time is running out for him to prove his mettle. Selling these players frees up the squad not just from a wages perspective but from an attitude one as well.
Renovate Old Trafford and facilities:
When a list of stadiums for England’s bid for the World Cup in 2030 was announced, Old Trafford was omitted from the list of stadiums. A big blow to ManUtd, but not for the Glazers - who don’t seem to think United need to be brought to the forefront of world football. By renovating the stadium and facilities, the club can provide an enhanced experience for fans, and bring the club back as a place for players to move to. More fans will be able to experience the special vibe of the stadium thanks to the improved infrastructure.
Better recruitment and chances to youngsters:
The likes of Amad & Garnacho performing like a world-class forwards is great signs for United. However, United’s youngsters haven’t shown the guile and skill needed to break into the first team. With Rashford maturing and Greenwood (what a shame !) out of the picture, United need to upgrade its scouting practices and also improve facilities for youngsters to thrive.
