Schizotypal personality disorder (STPD) is a type of eccentric personality disorder. If you have STPD then your behavior and mannerisms would appear to be strange to others. While STPD is under the schizophrenia spectrum, those with STPD don't experience psychosis.
What are the signs and symptoms of STPD?
Symptoms of STPD are the following:
• strange behavior or thinking
• unusual beliefs
• discomfort in social situations
• lack of emotions or inappropriate emotional responses
• odd speech which may be vague or rambling
• lack of close friends
• extreme social anxiety
• paranoia
Those with STPD tends to lead a solitary life. If you have intense social anxiety you may find it hard tl build relationships. You might blame others for your discomfort in social situations.
Those who have STPD, they usually don't have psychotic symptoms. Hallucinations, delusions, and loss of touch with reality are hallmarks of psychosis.
