Some of the followers of the GOD of Abraham prescribe to a flat Earth model. However, the flat Earth doctrine predates Abraham.
The Jewish and Christian Scriptures do not teach the shape, nor the age of the Earth. Those who claim it does, are giving their interpretation of what the Scriptures say. Some interpretations are, sure it could say that, while others are so outlandish that it was made in desperation to confirm their bias.
The Jewish Apocrypha has works that support the flat Earth. But these are not Scripture and thus have zero authority.
Where then did the Jews get the flat Earth idea if the Jewish Scriptures do not state the shape of the Earth to be flat?
Remember, the Abraham was a Chaldean. The Chaldeans are derived from the Sumerian civilization. Abraham's father Terah served idol's and false gods. Abraham probably grew up with flat Earth doctrine, because Sumerian religions taught a flat Earth.
When the Israelites were in captivity in Egypt, they were exposed to the Egyptian religions, which also taught a flat Earth doctrine. The Israelites in Egypt followed and practiced Egyptian religion and not the religion of their fathers. This is why GOD sent the plagues onto Egypt to show both the Isrealites and the Egyptians that the Egyptian gods were beneath HIM.
Moses also had to ask GOD what to tell the Isrealites when they ask who sent him. To which GOD said I AM sent you.
The Isrealites also spent time in captivity in Babylonia. The Babylonian religion is Sumerian derived and thus also prescribes to a flat Earth doctrine.
We know from the Old Testament that the Jews would constantly integrate the religions of false gods into their own practices. The flat Earth is Sumerian and Egyptian Paganism borrowed by some Jews, influenced some of the Apocryphal works, and is not found in Scripture without taking extremes and uneducated interpretations of scripture.
