The 15th FIH Men's Hockey World Cup is presently underway in Bhuvaneshwar and Rourkela, and India is tied for first place in Pool D with England, having won and drawn against Spain and England, respectively. India won the World Cup in 1975. However, they have yet to go past the semifinals since then. This time, the team has big expectations. For a silver medal, each player would receive Rs. 15 lakh, and each support personnel would receive Rs. 3 lakh. A bronze medal is worth Rs. 10 lakh for each contestant and Rs. 2 lakh for each support staff member.
India will play Wales in their third pool encounter in Bhubaneswar. The elimination stage will begin on January 22 and 23, with crossover matches, followed by quarterfinals on January 25 and semifinals on January 27. On January 29, the Bronze Medal match and the Final will take place.
