So this is what happened at the News18 India's debate. It was its Senior Editor Aman Chopra show, and in the middle of the debate, a heated argument turned into a scuffle.

What's really insane is that heated argument between female panelist and Shoaib Jamei, verbal argument turned physical.

But this kind of argument and scuffle is nothing new anymore. News channels and TV debates have become a gimmick.

There used to be a time, when TV debates were about debates and people used to debate in a civilised manner.

People used to debate in a mature and also disagreed in a civilised manner.

But the current situation of TV news debates more than information and opinion has become a platform for humiliation and bad mouthing each other, rather than people discussing and debating they fight and scuffle.

What happened at News18 TVRoom was sad, but is certainly nothing new, a regular occurance that we can witness on an everyday basis during the Prime Time of our TV news.

The viral video from News18 has sparked a lot of debate among people on social media about ethics of newsroom and the declining standards of TV news in India.

A lot of people are saying, whatever happened in the video was done to garnerer TRP.

In the name of TRP, a lot is happening these days in our NewsRooms.

But justifying his actions and what happening in the video from the newsroom, Aman Chopra taking his stance said, "If our aim was to collect TRP, then why didn't we do that part of the scuffle on air? Neither on TV nor on digital. The fact is that the part of the video which some people are creating sensation after watching it is lying in our dustbin. We removed that part of the scuffle and put the show on air."

"The viral video you are watching is during the recording which was probably recorded by someone from the audience. The country will not let you bow down anyway your love is number 1 in TRP, " he further added.
