Had it not been for my mother supporting me, I would have found it very difficult to live. Accepting the gender identity of their transgender child is difficult for any parent, as it was for my mother. The question of 'log kya kahenge' constantly haunted her. She often questioned where ahe erred in raising me as a boy. She wondered if this is a punishment from God for some sin of hers. She balanced between caring for me and giving me love while keeping peace with others in family.
While it took her many years, she finally came to terms with my feminity. From being angry with me for my gender transition to now buying dresses and jewellery for me, we have come a long way.
