The team comprising the oldest but most experienced players of country displayed their experience and ability to turn the game around and showed the country's rugby fraternity that whoever has the courage will win. In the semi-final match, the way Haryana, after trailing by 14-0 against Orissa, scored three tries one after the other in the last 4 minutes to win the match by 15-14, everyone was stunned and was forced to say that Haryana is truly a champion team.

In the first half, Orissa played the match with kicks, scored two tries and succesfull conversions and gave a tough fight to the Haryana team. It was becoming difficult for the Haryana team, which was struggling with fitness and age, to control the match.

Meanwhile, the team's captain and winger Mohit Khatri got a yellow card. This was the time when everyone in the packed stadium believed that the Orissa team, considered to be the fittest in the country, had stopped Haryana's victory chariot.
